Parents wonder what we teachers do with our spare time. I, like many other teachers, spend a lot of time keeping up with trends in education and trying to better my teaching practices. Here are some websites I'm currently using to grow in my professional knowledge.

A series of 8 hour-long videos on how to teach science using inquiry methods.
This is a wonderful resource from Learning.Org and has FREE registration!
Learner.org: Essential Science for Teachers
The Essential Science for Teachers courses are designed to help K–6 teachers gain an understanding of some of the bedrock science concepts they need to teach today’s standards-based curricula. The series of courses will include Life Science, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science.

Click on the home link and poke around the rest of Dr. Lebeau's site. She has compiled lots of links for lots of topics.
Science Series Homepage
Although this site is for teachers of middle school students, it does a good job of giving all teachers inquiry science ideas and resources. The article "A Teacher's Guide to Student Discovery through Inquiry" is particularly valuable.
