Supplies
Suggested Supplies for Mrs. Howard's Class: - 1 box of 24 crayons and 1 package of 12 or more colored pencils
- 1 covered personal pencil sharpener for the colored pencils
- loose-leaf paper (3 or 4 150 sheet packages will last the year)
- 1 composition book for Reading Response Journal
- pencils (please no Erasermate pencils--they have ink instead of pencil lead)
- eraser caps
- glue sticks
- pens with blue, purple, or green ink
- zipper storage pouch
- box of tissues
- 2 plastic 3-brad folders
*Please do not send in handsoap as we do not have sinks in our classrooms. *I have a class set of scissors and rulers for my students' use. *Large binders and Trapper Keepers are discouraged because they are too large for our desks. However, if your child needs the organizational help provided by a Trapper Keeper (I know my son does!), then feel free to meet your child's needs. *Your child may use a mechanical pencil, but must have a regular pencil at hand to use when the mechanical pencil jams or runs out of lead. *Please buy an extra set of the consumables on this list at the beginning of the school year when everything is on sale. Save these items to replenish your child's supplies in January. *Cheap pencils really aren't a bargain--they don't sharpen well and students find it very frustrating to have a pencil that just won't sharpen. Please buy quality pencils like Ticonderoga or Mirado.
